Called to Serve- Hispanic Young Adult Retreat

This last weekend, La Red and OYYAM hosted over 60 young adults at Camp Hamilton for an amazing retreat, Called to Serve (Lllamados a Servir). The retreat included keynote presentations, small group discussions, prayer, and lots of fun camp activities. We could not have done this without the support of our incredible team members. A special thank you to Edwin Ferrera who helped plan and organize the entire retreat and also gave a keynote presentation. We are so grateful for the presence of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit including Brother Lucio Galicia and Father Edgar Sánchez. In addition, several La Red members took key roles in planning and facilitating including Susi Orozco, Carlos Orozco and Jesús Pinedo, who also served as our MC. We were also blessed and honored to have the incredible Music Ministry of St. Mary of the Valley – they brought down the house (actually, the lodge!) with their uplifting, inspiring and energizing music. We are so grateful to each and every one of them.

Here are some photos from the retreat – enjoy!

Stay tuned to this blog for more information about our next Hispanic Retreat – plans are currently underway for a Hispanic Youth Retreat sometime this summer. More info to come…

And to all the Young Adults out there don’t forget to register for the upcoming ROOTED Conference 2009: Saints in the Making at UW on May 16.

Peace to all!

Frances, Corina, and the OYYAM Staff
